Angela Ryan: Director Connectionz+

Angela established Connectionz+ in 2014 after 22 years as Director of the Mana Education Centre supporting schools and communities throughout the Wellington area and beyond. Now in its seventh year of operation Connectionz+ continues to offer professional development programmes for teachers and leaders - Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary. Angela also coordinates the Wellington Regional Primary Principals Association and the Mana Principals Association.
She has taught at all levels of the primary sector and spent six years as a Deputy Principal before working for Wellington College of Education and Victoria University where her dual role was to establish and grow the Education Centre alongside working as an Advisor to schools focusing on Provisionally Registered Teachers and School leadership.
After the Centre was closed by the University, Angela re-established the Mana Education Centre as a Charitable Trust and it ran with a Trust Board for 8 years. Angela’s roles included developing an annual professional development programme for teachers from early childhood through to secondary, overseeing a retail outlet of educational resources and a resource library for schools. She has brought many international and national experts into Wellington to work with teachers.
Angela has an interest in Event Management and has organised a number of Teachers and Principals Conferences, Regional BP Technology Challenges, and other community events including a very successful Cancer Society Relay for Life in Porirua.
Angela has proven organisational skills, is an excellent communicator/ networker and is passionate about making connections with education and community for the betterment of both communities and providing better outcomes for young people.
